What a Week

This week has been FULL of excitement.
Monday consisted of sharing spring break excitement. Michael Jackson, my girl dancer, was SO excited to tell me she did. Here's what she told me, "Guess what I did?! We had a party. We had chicken wangs, BBQ, crab legs, potato salad, and erthang. My mama, both sisters, and Young Buck were there and erthang. We danced and sang. It was so much fun." Who knows what they were celebrating. All I know is she was so happy Monday, and that made my heart happy :)
The first part of standardized testing began this week. Tuesday and Wednesday were filled of reading instructions, waiting, and watching. I tested a small group of kiddos that I thought would benefit from being a small group. I am proud to say, I think they did pretty good. Of course, I couldn't watch what they were marking, but I feel confident they were prepared. Wednesday was the math portion of the test. Michael Jordan got stumped on a question and had a melt down. Not good. He was so distracting to the other kids, and I know how he is. Nothing you can say matters. Thankfully, the kids got to take a break, and he was able to cool down and make up the wasted time.
Tuesday when I left school, the blue skies and 67 degree weather pulled me outside for a walk. I walked around my apartments for 30 minutes. After that, my eyes started swelling, red, and itchy. Allergies... no good. Wednesday morning I woke to puffy, purple, dry, eyes. I have NEVER had allergies before, so I had no idea what to do... I took Benadryl and waited it out. It's much better now...
Wednesday before I left school, I got an email that I could be observed on Thursday or Friday!! AHHHH!!! I freaked out! I may have slacked a little on the lesson plans. I had a lot of work to do. I quickly went through my planner, where I had written out what I was doing, and typed it up. Around 12:00 AM, I finally went to sleep.
Friday, I went to the doctor for my itchy eyes. I went to a UAB clinic in Moody. I arrived at this lovely place 20 minutes before my appointment, hoping they would get me in and out quicker. WRONG!! After 50 minutes, I was still sitting in the waiting room. They finally took me to the room, where I waited another 30 minutes. I had to get to work, so I left before I ever saw the doctor. Needless to say, I won't be going back. Ever.
As I type this, I am sitting in my bed with the windows open, watching Oprah. I am thinking a nap may be next...
